Jennifer Love Hewitt’s New Haircut and Color Is the Ultimate Spring Hair Makeover
New season, new look.
While Jennifer Love Hewitt's wispy bangs were the breakout star of I Know What You Did Last Summer, since starring in the classic '90s horror movie, the actress has continued switching up her look. She's done everything from going blonde, to trying out a ton of brunette shades, experimenting with a variety of lengths, and so many different styles of bangs in between.
In 2020, looks like not much has changed when it comes to trying out new looks. And the actress proved it as she got ready for spring by refreshing her signature chocolate brown hair with a fresh blunt lob haircut and some caramel highlights, which her colorist is calling "love lights" (Get it?).
Nikki Lee, celebrity hairstylist and co-founder of Nine Zero One Salon in LA, debuted Hewitt's new look on Instagram on March 4. For the big reveal, her new cut was styled in loose beachy waves, which bring out her color's warm golden tones.
"@jenniferlovehewitt ready for spring with a fresh chop and some love lights," Lee captioned the post.
Hewitt's caramel highlights look like classic balayage, a coloring technique where highlights are painted freehand onto the hair. The color starts off soft at the scalp and gradually gets thicker towards the ends of the hair.
"Spring and summer tend to be the months where we naturally want to be lighter and brighter, which reflects the sun being out more, as well as beach multiple days," Michelle O’Connor, a stylist for The Salon by InStyle Inside JCPenney previously told InStyle. "Balayage tends to mimic what the sun would do naturally."
Hewitt also shared her new sun-kissed color in a video on Instagram. In her post, she says she was ready for a fresh change after wrapping filming season three of her hit TV show 9-1-1.
"New look and new vibes! I’m feeling ready for joy, light, love, fun and silly energy. Asking the universe around me to make space for me and those I love to feel unapologetic joy and gratitude," she captioned the post.
Hewitt's brand new cut and color, along with a positive outlook, is a spring vibe we can all get behind.
