While most of the world stops calorie counting this time of year, Gigi Hadid has been working out non-stop all of December. First she showed off her athleticism in the CR Girls 2018 with TECHNOGYM calendar and now she shared her “freeform day” with Love magazine in the latest installment of its annual advent calendar.
The supermodel kicked off the eleventh day of the holiday countdown with a video by Phil Poynter that shows Hadid throwing punches, doing impressive kickboxing work and of course, setting some volleyball bumps and spikes in the minute-long video. (Reminder: She loves volleyball.)
She sports a red cutout sports bra with high-waisted leggings (all from her Gigi x Tommy line) and shows a very different beauty look than we’re used to seeing from most supermodels, by showing unshaved armpit hair.

While armpit hair is a revolutionary thing to see in big production editorials, lots of high-profile celebs have been championing the trend for years.
Madonna went au naturel in 2014 with an Instagram photo showing her underarm writing, “Long hair…… Don’t Care!!!!!!”
Scout Willis proudly showed off her hair on the red carpet in 2015 and shared her inspiration for the look on Twitter with a photo of Sophia Loren with visibly long underarm hair.
And of course, there is Miley Cyrus who actually dyed her armpit hair in 2015.
Hadid hasn’t yet commented on her video (she’s taking a week-long social media break). But she did have a message to viewers in the video, telling everyone to: “stay strong.”
And in a statement at the end of her workout Hadid explained what the Love advent calendar means to her. “It’s celebratory of epic human beings and always pushes boundaries,” she said. “The Love advent kind of feels like a holiday year book in a way. Headmaster grand style.”
