This is 100% the best apple pie recipe ever. I had never really made pie before I made this one - it turned out perfectly the first time! I also use this crust recipe when I make pumpkin pie and lemon meringue pie.
I do use a few small substitutions:
- 1.5 C white flour and 1/2 C whole wheat flour (instead of 2C white)
- 3 T coconut oil and 4T Crisco (instead of 7 T Crisco)
- apple pie spice instead of cinnamon, and I up it to 1/2 t
I have yet to taste a better apple pie!!!
