Enjoy the sun (a little)

Getting the right amount of exposure to ultraviolet light can be one of your best allies against psoriasis. Although doctors prefer that you get light therapy under medical supervision, exposing the affected areas of your skin to sunlight for a few minutes a day while covering everything else up is probably not a bad idea, says Dr. Goldenberg. One study found that 60% of patients who were exposed to sunlight reported improvements in their psoriasis. But be careful—even a mild sunburn can trigger an outbreak.
