Gargle with warm salt water

There's no need to get choked up! If you have a sore throat, gargle with warm salt water. Even if you don't have a sore throat, consider gargling to prevent cold symptoms. A 2005 study suggests that healthy people who gargled three times a day for two months during the cold and flu season had fewer cold symptoms than those who didn't. So add one teaspoon of salt to a glass of warm water and go crazy.
