How to Make Protein-Packed Granola Bars Without Refined Sugar

Love the convenience of snacking on granola bars, but not a fan of all the added sugars and difficult-to-pronounce ingredients that so often show up in the ones on supermarket shelves? We’ve got you covered! Watch this video to learn how to make your own delicious fruit and nut granola bars that don’t contain refined sugar.

These bars are perfect to make as part of your Sunday meal prep. After you whip up a batch, you’ll have a nutritious, grab-and-go option for breakfast or even a satisfying snack all week long. Each bar packs a healthy dose of whole grains, protein, and good-for-you fat. Plus, they don’t contain any dreaded ingredients like added sugar, preservatives, or artificial flavoring. What is in them: protein-packed nuts and nut butter, fiber-filled oats, omega-3-rich flaxseeds, raisins for extra vitamins and minerals, and a touch of agave, a natural sweetener.

To make these protein-packed snack bars, simply combine nut butter, agave, raisins, vanilla, ground flaxseeds, water and salt in a food processor and mix until pureed. Next, place the oats, nuts, more raisins, and flax seeds in a bowl and stir into the nut butter mixture. Spread this mixture into a greased 8x8 baking dish and press it down on it firmly. Finally, bake until the bars look slightly golden-brown, which should take about 30-35 minutes. Let them cool then cut into 12 tasty bars, which can be stored at room temperature for up to 3 days.
