Experience

Mia's speciality is shining a light on how personal finance impacts every area of life—including healthcare. She joined Health in 2022 after working on the finance desk for Real Simple, Parents, and Better Homes & Gardens. Prior to coming to Dotdash Meredith, Mia worked for some of the country's top news organizations including serving as a Metro Reporter for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and a staff reporter for The San Diego Union Tribune.

Later in her career, Mia was selected for a competitive fellowship at KPBS, the San Diego affiliate of National Public Radio. She was among a team of KPBS reporters who received the Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Journalism in 2011.

My aim is to create stories that enlighten and inform our readers, helping them to make educated decisions about issues critical to their lives.

Education

Mia has an M.A. in journalism and media studies from San Diego State University and a B.S. in print journalism from Emerson College. She was also completed a digital journalism fellowship with KPBS, the San Diego affiliate of National Public Radio.
