Geralyn Dexter, Ph.D., LMHC, is an Adjunct Professor of Psychology at Southern New Hampshire University. She is also an expert mental health writer. In addition, Dr. Dexter is a licensed clinician specializing in treating anxiety and mood disorders, and substance use.

Dr. Dexter has over ten years of clinical experience in intensive outpatient centers, community-based settings, private practice, and mental health startups. She is also passionate about research and is a Research Scholar at the Ronin Institute. Her research interests include suicidal ideation and behavior, non-suicidal self-injury, barriers to assessment and treatment, and therapist emotional responses.

Dr. Dexter received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida. She has a Ph.D. in Psychology from Northcentral University and a Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University.
