Chika Anekwe, MD, MPH, is an obesity medicine physician at Massachusetts General Hospital. She is board-certified in general preventive medicine, public health, obesity medicine and by the National Board of Physician Nutrition Specialists. Dr. Anekwe is trained to treat clinical nutrition, obesity, nonsurgical weight management, pre- and post-operative and bariatric weight management. She is also interested in community health outreach with a special interest in underserved communities. 


Dr. Anekwe has authored manuscripts, book chapters, and blog posts about obesity and weight management. She received her bachelor’s degree from Princeton University and her medical degree from the University of Connecticut. Dr. Anekwe also obtained her master's in public health from Columbia University. She completed an internship in Pediatrics at NYU Langone Medical Center/ Bellevue Hospital.

After her internship, Dr. Anekwe completed her residency in general preventive medicine and public health at SUNY Stony Brook University School of Medicine.
