What Increases Your Risk

You may be more likely to have allergic rhinitis and other allergies if:

  • You have a family history of allergies, especially allergic rhinitis. It is more likely a child will have an allergy if both parents have an allergy or have the same type of allergy.2
  • You are exposed to dust mites, animal dander, or other indoor allergens.
