You determine your daily asthma treatment plan with your health professional. The plan generally includes:

  • Treatment goals, which include personal goals you set regarding your asthma.
  • An outline of the medications you take daily for control of airway inflammation and when to take them.
  • How to measure your peak expiratory flow (PEF) with a peak flow meter.

A daily asthma treatment plan is often combined with an asthma action plan, which tells you how to treat asthma attacks.
