What do you do to avoid diabetes complications?
When Nancy was having trouble keeping her blood sugar under control, she decided to see an endocrinologist. “He knew all the angles,” she says. “He knows his field very well, but he also has this incredible bedside manner.” He talked to her about the complications of uncontrolled diabetes such as blindness and amputations. He didn’t scare herinstead she was more motivated to make lifestyle changes. “I started taking this diagnosis much more seriously,” she says.
