If you need to lose weight, it helps to write down what you're eating, according to William Bornstein, MD, an endocrinologist at Emory Clinic in Atlanta. "Portion size is key," he says. He also says that having a treat here or there isn't "going to set you back sustantially," he says. "There ought to be a provision in folks' plan to allow themselves to do that."
